27 June 2019, UK ~ A high-class list of entries was released by the Arabian Racing Organisation (ARO) today for the Qatar International Stakes (Gr1PA) to be run as part of the Qatar Goodwood Festival on 31 July 2019. They include ten individual Group 1 PA winners, and topping the list are the last two winners, Muraaqib and Tayf, as well as Ebraz, runner-up on both occasions. Also entered is this year’s French Derby winner, Hayyan, as well as Rodess Du Loup, the latter winner of both the French Derby and the English Derby’s last year. There are a further nine horses entered who are either PA Pattern winners or have been placed in pattern races.
The overall prize fund for the Qatar International Stakes is £400,000, and with £200,000 to the winner, the one mile contest has attracted 23 entries, with a supplementary stage closing at noon on 23rd July. Declarations are on 29th July for the race to be run on Wednesday 31st July.
