6 January 2015, Abu Dhabi, UAE ~ The HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival announced the formation of Wathba Stallions, charged with the marketing of the Arabian stallions in the breeding farms of HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan located in the UAE and France.
Ms Lara Sawaya, who is also the Executive Director of the HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival, has been appointed the Manager of the new enterprise.
Sawaya commented: “The new company has been established under the directives of HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan. All marketing operations for the stallions owned by HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan will now be based under the new company which will have its headquarters at the Eastern Mangroves Hotel by Jannah in Abu Dhabi,” Ms Sawaya stated.
The news conference was also attended by Dr. Ali Al Mastouri and Martial Boisseuil, Racing Manager (Europe) for the HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Ms Sawaya said that fees will be decided shortly and will vary from stallion to stallion. Bookings for breedings and questions regarding frozen semen will be provided from the new office. The top stallions for this program include Mahabb, his sire,Tahar De Candelon, Munjiz, Sire D’albret, Mawood, Quazar and Sarrab, among others.
“Certain measures and criteria will be adopted to ensure that semen from top stallions will be made available only for well-bred mares to ensure the quality of the breed,” assured Ms Sawaya.
