October 12, 2013, Dubai ~ Al Ain’s Al Nakheel race track, which is set to become the fifth racecourse in the UAE during the 2013-2014 UAE racing season, will host its much-anticipated first race meeting next year, according to a revised schedule announced by the Emirates Racing Authority (ERA) on Tuesday.
The new track at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club was scheduled to make its much-awaited debut on Saturday, November 30, but the opening date has been pushed back to January 31, 2014.
As a result of the revamped schedule, the intended race meetings on November 30 and December 20, will now be held on February 14 and March 20 next year.
These changes ensure that the new UAE racing calendar maintains the five race meetings allocated to Al Ain, with the other race days reserved for February 28 and March 14, just 15 days before the 2014 Dubai World Cup.
