“The race was one of only four run due to inclement weather, something that I have not seen at Stockton in 16 years,” said Director of Racing at California Fairs, Larry Swartzlander. “Arabian racing is seeing a resurgence in California,” he continued. “The trainer of Kador N U, Leisa Belser, had lost interest in Arabian Racing, but has renewed her interest and along with many others are riding the wave of the Wathba Stud Farm Racing Series. Pleasanton has already hosted two stakes caliber races, and Barretts Race Meet at Fairplex hosted the HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Global Arabian Horse Racing Festival on 12 September. New owners are now shipping into California from Texas, Delaware and Colorado.”
The Wathba Series, sponsored by the HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival, will conclude for the season of California Fairs at The Big Fresno Fair, Saturday, Oct 5, 2013.
