February 22, 2014, Texas ~ Arabians took over two of the ten races at Sam Houston Park over the weekend.
February 22 – in the 4 YO Colts and Geldings 7F GR II Texas Six Shooter, Burning Fleet had locked on the win from the back stretch and was not to be outdone. The son of Burning Sand took command of the 10 horse field from the top of the stretch, and was chased home in a late surge by RB Champagne Taste on the outside. Burning Fleet under the hands of Ernesto Valdez-Jiminez prevailed over the line in a winning time of 1:32:24 for a piece of the $31,800.00 purse.

In the 7F Texas Yellow Rose, Grade II Four Year Old Stakes for Fillies the TH Richie filly stretched out from the outside gate and quickly took the lead tracked by Dhann. At the top of the stretch RB Burn Baby Burn turned up the heat and won going away, making a double Arabian day for jockey, Ernesto Valdez-Jiminez, and a piece of the $30,000 purse. Winning time: 1:33.41.
