SOREC celebrates Casablanca-Anfa Racing

November 27, 2013, Morocco ~ The Saturday November 23, Thoroughbred racing at Casablanca Anfa race track organized by SOREC (Societe Royale d’encouragement du Cheval) stakes races with PMU Premium collected 700,000 euros, almost 350,000 euros each for the two principal races – a record for racing even in France, the home country of the PMU. The PMU (Pari-Mutual Urbain) is responsible for race betting regulation in France, and also administers race betting in Morocco.

Le Prix de Sa Majesté le roi Mohammed VI for 3 years old and up, a 2,400m race, was won by Jalobey Racing with Billabong. Owner, Sharif El Alami was ecstatic to see this win by his home- bred, trained by Frenchman, Jean de Roualle. Jalobey entered 4 home- breds, including Royal Storm, Sultan, and Astrostar.

Casa-Anfa Racetrack

Le Prix des Eleveurs – 3 years and up for females, 1,900m was won by Fily Medi, a daughter of Medecis trained by Christian Delcher Sancez for Pandora Stud (Tony Forde).
