24 September 2018, Abu Dhabi, UAE ~ The 16th edition of the annual Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition, ADIHEX, will be held from 25-29 September 2018, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
Held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Falconers’ Club, the event is the region’s largest exhibition for hunting, equestrian and heritage preservation. The event is expected to attract around 100,000 visitors.
ADIHEX is the only dedicated hunting, equestrian, falconry, arts, heritage, marine and outdoor sports exhibition in the region. This year’s main theme focuses on the legacy of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his work in the areas of falconry, sustainable hunting and the protection of the environment.
Organized by the Emirates Falconers Club and supported by The Environment Agency, Abu Dhabi (EAD), International Fund for Houbara Conservation (IFHC), The Department of Culture and Tourism ( DCT) and The Cultural Programs and Heritage Festivals Committee, ADIHEX is a government initiative with the primary aim to promote Sustainable Hunting, Environmental and Cultural heritage.
His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Horse Racing Festival, celebrating its 10th year in 2018, is again taking part in the Exhibition promoting Purebred Arabian horse racing throughout the world. The many Festival booths will be in the Equestrian Hall where all sponsors and the supporting race community will be showcased.
Ms. Lara Sawaya, Executive Director of HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival, Chairperson of the International Federation of Horse Racing Academies (IFHRA) and Chairperson of Ladies & Apprentice Racing Committees in the International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing Authorities (IFAHR), stated: “As over the past few years this year also the Festival has a huge presence at ADIHEX, which is one of the foremost equestrian and hunting exhibitions in the region. I am happy to state that the year 2018, which is being celebrated as The Year of Zayed will focus on the legacy of Sheikh Zayed and his accomplishments. Many of our major sponsors will be present and we are expecting more visitors than in the previous years.”
The Festival’s Welcome Center has a new and unique design with many horses involved in different disciplines. The Festival’s exhibitors include representatives from many parts of the world including Australia, Brazil, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Lebanon, The Netherlands, Romania, Spain, United Kingdom and United States of America, apart from several main sponsors from the UAE.
Added attraction at the exhibition will be live performances of horses, K9 dogs, birds and falcons and hunting activities. Along with these activities, the exhibition will also have a number of stands dedicated to cultural heritage, hunting equipment, safaris, hunting weapons, falconry, fishing, outdoor leisure, vehicles and equipment.
