3 October 2014, UK ~ Gadebrook Stud’s legendary champion long-distance racehorse Sambist (Balaton x Stihia by Topol), at age 27, has won for the ninth time the title of Premium Arab Racing Sire of the Year in the UK, in the UK Arab Horse Society Premium Performance Program.
The yearling filly, Mariska (also pure Russian) will head to the USA to join the Fast Track Stud of Dr Larry Cohen, and will train with Patti Bailey of Phase 11 Ranch near Boston.
Born at Tersk Stud, Soviet Union in 1987, Sambist was a multiple stakes winner and champion in Russia and the United Kingdom.
Raced from the age of two at Pyatygorsk near Tersk, Sambist went on to win all five of the Russian Classics:

The St. Ledger,
The Comparison,
The Great Sprintersky
The Name of the USSR Proschalnij
