14 September 2015, Russia ~ On 23 August 2015 Tersk Stud celebrated the sixth edition of the annual Open House. This event has become very popular among people from Stavropol. Famous Russian horse breeders, scientists from the All-Russian Institute of Horse Breeding, specialists from Belgium, Germany, Italy and Switzerland, and numerous guests and visitors gathered at Tersk Stud on that sunny day.

Many guests traditionally come with their families as they know that the Open House is a family event. Everyone found something to his liking. There were numerous playgrounds and workshops organized for children. Under romantically soaring umbrellas girls created exclusive hats and headbands to be fully dressed up for the races. Boys took advantage of several sport grounds and all guests were anxious to have a complimentary commemorative photo.

Events Of The Day

While the Grand Opening Concert program was staged at the main arena, a special show-jumping event for children took place in another. The President of the Russian Arabian Horse Breeders Association, Alexei Sagal, reminded everyone how this all started six years ago. Sagal thanked all who came to the Open House and those that keep track of Tersk’s accomplishments and victories. The Stud is growing with ambitious plans and new and interesting prospects.

The General Director of Tersk Stud, Sergei Ivanov, mentioned that this sixth Open House marked new victories, including the win by the stallion Nonet. During the 2015 race season Tersk Stud horses also won several prestigious prizes including: Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Prize, Wrsan Prize, Volga Federal Region Cup, Elita Prize, Aswan Prize, Summer Prize.

Alexei Sagal commented: “Thanks to the Open House, Tersk Stud has become the meeting point for professionals and amateurs and those who appreciate the beauty of the Arabian horse, its speed and endurance. I hope that today our guests will get an unforgettable experience. We and our partners intend to carry on the tradition of organizing this bright family event in the long term”.

Tersk Stud made certain that everyone took away bright memories. Guests were awed at the breath-taking stunt riding by Volgograd Cossack Horse Club.

The National Championship horse show, Pyatigorie Star 2015 with 81 horses from all over Russia was a highlight with judges from Europe and Russia.

Judges commented: “It was a hard choice,” said Ms. Gudrun Waiditschka from Germany. “I often take part in such shows and I’d like to say that the level of this Championship is very high.” Ms. Waiditschka comes to Tersk Stud regularly and is in love with the Russian Arabs. Nelly Phillipot from Belgium agreed with her German colleague. Mrs. Phillipot was an endurance rider and gives a high rating to the Championship held at Tersk Stud. Mrs. Phillipot uses her experience and scientific approach as the estimation criteria. Mr. Gianmarco Aragno form Italy was fascinated by Open House at Tersk Stud. It was his first time in Russia but he had enough time to appreciate the points of horses and a wonderful atmosphere of the event.

The most long-awaited moment of the Open House was the lottery with the grand prize the beautiful Arabian colt Emir Khan Tersk.
