July 1, UK ~ Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club(QREC) sponsored series of races continues with huge success in Europe.
30 July -Jean Francois Bernard trained Abu Alabyad (Akbar x Ortie), donning the silks of HH Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, claimed the QREC sponsored Coupe De France Des Sang Arabes at Chantilly racecourse on Sunday, 30 June with jockey Jean Bernard Eyquem astride. The Pure Arabian race for three-year-olds carried a purse of Euros 50,000. Qatar’s Hassan Al Matwi’s Major and Majd Al Uraiq took the second and third place respectively in the 1,600 metre contest, while HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan’s Hady and Hassan Al Matwi’s Naksh completed the frame in the field of five runners.
25 June ~ This time it was the Premier Handicap Stakes which was run at Newbury on Tuesday, 25 June 2013.
E.J. Legg trained Man Of Dreams (Nizam x Dantes Dream)ridden by D Turner was challenged unsuccessfully by Sophia on the winning run. The 2000 metre contest for three-year-old Pure Arabians+ saw Man Of Dreams prevail by a length over Sophia (Kerbella x Solange) owned by Mr. Okbah Moh Aashour and ridden by M Stanley, while Hareer, owned by the Royal Cavalry of Oman took the third place ahead of Altese Kossack. The QREC £ 8,000 sponsored race had 11 contestants. The QREC sponsored series continues to support Arabian racing in Europe.
23 June – St. Cloud racecourse, France. Qatari owned horses in the European circuit include the win of HE Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al Thani owned Al Mamun Monlau (Munjiz) while clinching the Coupe of the UAE President Cup in France.
