QREC Racing Turns Up the Heat with Wins by Al Mizan and Harran

20 November 2014, Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club ~ Al Mizan (Vert Duzan x Nevada De Cardonne) came up with a dazzling display while clinching the Al Wakra Cup, a Local Bred-Pure Arabian Conditions race at the Racing and Equestrian Club on Thursday, 20 November with jockey Harry Bentley astride the winner. The Jassim Al Ghazali trained Al Mizan clocked a smart time of 01:46:38 seconds for the 1600 meters contest. Thawi took the second place ahead of Zahi.

H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Thani owned Al Atique (Amer x Somra) was a comfortable winner of the Pure Arabian Conditions race. The J.Smart trained Al Atique was ridden to victory by jockey Alberto Sanna over stablemates Al Bashtoon and Hariir giving Smart the top three finishes.

Olivier Materne owned Aseel (Nizam x Saeedah) was another that broke through the maiden ranks in the Pure Arabian Plate in emphatic fashion. Haraz Al Naif and Khrash Al Naif finished second and third respectively. Alban De Mieulle trained Aseel was ridden to victory by jockey Pier Convertino.

Ghazali trained Jelmood was brilliantly ridden by jockey Harry Bentley to an impressive victory in the Local Thoroughbred Maiden Plate.

River Godess with Bentley up rallied strongly to beat Man Amongst Men close home in the Thoroughbred Maiden Plate.

 Another Benley win when Lupie scored a fluent victory in the Thoroughbred Graduation Plate for two year olds. 

Sandbetweenourtoes had a convincing win om the Thoroughbred Conditions race.  Tracking the leader till approaching the home turn, Sandbetweenourtoes  took charge readily under Bentley and won by three lengths over Bazaruto and Pay Freeze.

Al Busayyir (W.J Lee up) kept at bay the challenge of stable mate Goldenrod to win the Thoroughbred Conditions race ahead of Arrigo, finishing third ahead of Free Spin.

19 November ~  H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Thani’s Harran with Richard Mullen up came up with a stunning gallop down the final straight to win the Lemail Cup, A Pure Arabian Conditions race, run over 1,200 on 19 November. Racing midfield in a field of 12 till entering the home stretch, Harran was pulled out to make a bid on the outside and the Jullian Smart trainee came like a whirlwind to storm ahead and register an emphatic victory. AJS Qahir, TM Thunder Struck and Tuyoorna filled the frame in that order.

Mohammed Kazim Al Ansari & Sons owned TM Tasha Tiki (Burning Sand x Lanatiki) broke through the maiden ranks with a win over Saif Brooq in the Pure Arabian Maiden Plate. Ahmed Kobeissi trained TM Tasha Tiki was ridden to victory by jockey Salim Golam, while Rassan finished third ahead of Hemma in that order.

In another keen tussle for supremacy, Al Jeryan’s Aseer kept aside the challenge of Sraab and prevailed by a neck to win the Dukhan Cup, a Local Thoroughbred Conditions race. Jockey T.O’Shea was astride the winner. 

Dhafi Al Ardi Al Marri owned Absher was a runaway winner of the Local Thoroughbred Handicap for horses rated 0 to 60. Under the riding of Gary Carter, 

Rock Up was a comfortable winner of the Thoroughbred Graduation Plate. The Jassim Al Ghazali trained Rock Up was ridden to victory by jockey J.P Guillambert. 

Nile Knight (Marco Monteriso up) scored a fluent victory in Thoroughbred Handicap for horses rated 50 to 70. T

Late Debate had a brilliant ridden by Harry Bentley to the victory in the Thoroughbred Handicap for horses rated 85 to 105.
