Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club Premier Handicap Stakes At Newbury

ARO Banner_HRI2 June 24, 2013, London ~ Rachel King has been seen to excellent effect a number of times on Syrah Gris, but he needs to have his head put in front right on the line which won’t be easy here.  Noble Athlete won well on Sunday and still looks fairly treated but carries a 6lb penalty for that success.  Altesse Kossack and Whisper dead heated earlier on in the season and have both won here in the past so they go on the short list as does Sophia who looks well handicapped.  It is also unlikely that we have seen the best of the Omani pair here in the UK and Hareer is preferred of that duo. The tentative selection is MAN OF DREAMS who has won his last two starts and despite this being a step up in grade he is improving and the galloping nature of this track will suit his running style.   75QREC L'Arc1215412 copy

Newbury 25th June 2013 will see a very competitive field entered for The Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club Premier Handicap Stakes. This race will feature horses from across the spectrum of Arabian Racing in the UK. Top Owners The Royal Cavalry of Oman are doubly represented by HAREER and HASHEEMAH and the UK challenge is headed by course winner ALTESSE KOSSACK, trained by Peter Hammersley and owned by Rick Gould. If she runs to the same form that saw her triumph at this track in May she can defy top weight and run another good race.

ARO is incredibly grateful to Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club for their on-going support of Arabian Racing in the UK. QREC have sponsored a very popular race series, culminating in Gold and Silver finals to be run at ARO’s Season Finale at Hereford on Saturday 28th September. For the first time in 2013, Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club have also supported a Breeder’s Premium. All Purebred Arabian Races on AROs full racecards qualify for this premium, providing UK based breeders with valuable support and helping to secure the future of the sport.

“This is the first race at Newbury racecourse for QREC and ARO looks forward to welcoming their representative on Tuesday.”
