3 October 2021, ParisLongchamp – The third race of the day, the Gr 1 Qatar Arabian World Cup, one of the most prestigious Arabian horse races in the world with prize money of €500,000, was a wild ride that ended with a rushing win by Hoggar De L’Ardus.
With 15 in the competition, eight of them were from the yard of Thomas Fourcy, it was a tightly packed race around the oval. Taking hold around the final bend, the favorites, Ebraz, Tayf and Lady Princess, that had all remained up front, were angling for the lead as challenger Messi seemed locked back along the rail. Number 13, Hoggar De L’Ardus kept the steady pace in the rear. It wasn’t until 590 metres out that the four-year-old, urged by jockey Michael Barzalona. made his move along the rail and by 210 metres was seriously challenging the other Fourcy trained lead, Lady Princess. Hoggar De L’Ardus kept his head in front at the finish and left Lady Princess second. Fourcy had the one, two and three finish for the race.
Hoggar De L’Ardus is by Mister Ginoux out of Alfa De L’Ardus from the stable of SAS HE Sheikha Reem Al Thani. Win time for the 2000m was 2.21.02.
