Two Premium Stakes Races, held with the support of the HH HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival will take place March 8 at Sam Houston Park in Houston, Texas.
The US $41,000 HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship (IFAHR) will see twelve Purebred Arabians head to the post and benefit from the expertise of 12 international lady amateur riders invited by their host country to compete in this Global Championship. The UAE will be represented by lady jockey Anoud Al Suwaidi, and Oman has sent Azhar Al Wardi to Houston to this highly contested competition. Sandee Martin will represent the USA. The riders are assigned by drawing to their mount in this third round of the Championship.
The Invitational Ladies Championship 2014 travels with invited riders to Oman, Australia, Switzerland, the USA, Morocco, France, Germany, UK, Sweden, Netherlands, Belgium and Poland throughout the racing season with the winners invited for the Grand Finale and Champion title to be won at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club in November.

The second round of the 1400m Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup carrying a purse of $47,000 will see 10 Purebred Arabians going to post.
Mubarak Hamad Al Muhairi, Director General, Abu Dhabi Tourism& Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) looks at the benefit of these supported races for Arabian horses: “Equestrianism in general, and Purebred Arabian racing in particular, has been a part of the life and spirit of every Emirati and by promoting this sport globally the Festival seeks to enhance the status of Arabian racing.”
