23 June 2015, UK ~ Dubai International Arabian Races at Newbury Racecourse, 26th July International Stakes at Newbury on Thursday, 25 June marks the third in the series of UK DIAR warm up/prep races.
Preview of the day’s racing by Gary Capewell:
A fascinating contest, with the likely front three in the market all holding an entry in the Shadwell Dubai International Stakes (Group 1 PA) to be run over course and distance in a month’s time. Al Hibaab is a class act, having won the Shadwell Dubai International last year and was a good second on his seasonal return. He’s not easily overlooked but is giving a stone (weight) to most of his rivals which is a lot to ask. Abhar and Al Majh’hoor have victories over each other in Qatar this year and both ran well in Group 1 races at the Emir’s Sword Festival in February. Both are likely to be using this as a prep run for Group One targets later in the year but on this occasion AL MAJH’HOOR gets a narrow vote. Of the others, Ba’sil is interesting but he is less experienced than his stablemates and this will be his first UK start.
