May 2, 2013, Casblanca, Morocco ~ A press conference Thursday, May 2 at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Casablanca led by Mr. Omar Skali, Director General of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of the Horse (SOREC); Dr. Hicham Dibbagh, Course Director; and Dr. Ismael Nissaf, Director of the Casablanca racecourse announced the anticipated day of International Pure bred Arabian horse racing for Friday May 3rd.
The six races to be held at Casa-Anfa racecourse will include three International races, the ultimate GRAND PRIX DE SA MAJESTE LE ROI MOHAMED VI Grade III IFAHR for 4 yrs +(Purse 1.200.000 MAD, $140,000USD). Also the Group III IFAHR GRAND PRIX DE SON ALTESSE ROYALE LE PRINCE HERITIER MOULAY EL HASSAN for 4 yrs +(Purse 800.000 MAD), and race for 3 y.o. Purebred Arabians, GRAND PRIX DE SON ALTESSE ROYALE LE PRINCE MOULAY RACHID (Purse 700.000 MAD).
Also on tap for the day are three National races: PRIX CHARIFA, PRIX DU JOCKEY CLUB OF TURKEY and the last race, PRIX DE L’A.R.M.E.C PUR SANG ARABE for 4 yrs+ females born and raised in Morocco.
Local and international press and guests were invited to this 12th International day of Arabian racing, part of a strategic plan to develop the quality of Arabian racing in Morocco. Although the majority of the horses entered are born and bred in Morocco, the international races have attracted a quality field of international horses, showing support and confidence in the program. The National Stud of Morocco, laying under the responsibility of SOREC, is well established in providing top Arabian breeding support for national participants.
The day of racing is with the collaboration of the Association of Moroccan Breeders. En collaboration avec l’Association Royale Marocaine des Eleveurs de Chevaux Pur-sang Arabes (ARMECPSA) et la Société des Courses Hippiques de Casablanca, organise la douzième édition de l’évènement hippique le plus attendu de l’année : «La Journée internationale du Pur Sang Arabe» le vendredi 03 mai 2013 à l’hippodrome de Casablanca-Anfa.
