April 9, 2014, Doha, Qatar ~ Hassan Ali Hassan Al Matwi owned and trained Majd Al Uraiq (Majd Al Arab x Mezooh) was a brilliant ride fo Frenchman Gerald Avranche for a victory in the Al Zubara Cup, a Local Bred Pure Arabian Conditions race run over 1900 meters at the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club. Majd Al Uraiq was in a handy fourth position as the field straightened out for the home stretch. Once put into top gear, Majd Al Uraiq stretched away nicely and kept at bay the challenge from Ghazali’s Thawi to win by a neck. Mekhbatt (3) and Laheeb Al Shahania (4) completed the frame.
Saint De Faust (Dormane x Brume Correzienne) with Almotasem Al Balushi up clinched a thrilling victory over Barwa in the Pure Arabian Handicap rated 40 to 70. Saint De Faust was ridden to a pillar post victory, clocking a time of two minute 06: 03 seconds, for the nine furlong contest.
Ahmed al Kobeissi trained TM Reagan Bret (Burning Sand) a pillar to post winner of the Pure Arabian Graduation Plate. Taking a good jump, jockey Salim Golam took TM Reagan Bret to the front and called the shots to her n rivals. Once into the home turn, TM Reagan Bret sported a pair of wings and sped away to leave the others to fight for minor placings. TM Reagan Bret won by four lengths from Hab Reeh and Nomaas.
April 3, 2014 ~ Umm Qarn’s Kalino (Kaolino-Virlaxy) was brilliantly ridden by jockey Marvin Suerland to victory in the Al Huwaila Cup, a Pure Arabian Conditions race, the main event of the 48th days races. After taking over the running in the final furlong, Suerland did well to keep at bay the challenge of Arraab and Aziz Al Shahania, who finished with a rattle but could not get past the eventual winner.
