12 March 2020, Phoenix, AZ ~The Board of Directors of the Arabian Horse Breeders Alliance has determined, in light of the current situation with regard to COVID-19, it is in the best interest of all our friends in the Arabian horse industry to cancel this year’s Las Vegas Arabian Breeders World Cup Show 2020. We have closely monitored the new developments regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus) and with the World Health Organization characterizing COVID-19 a pandemic, we made the difficult decision to ensure the health and safety of our industry.
For our sponsors who have already paid your sponsorships for the 2020 Arabian Breeders World Cup Show a refund has already been issued. We thank you and appreciate your support and look forward to you supporting the show in 2021. For those of you who have submitted your entries, those charges were not made against your method of payment so no refund is required.
For the AHBA Futurity all 2020 funds will be paid out in 2021. For the Futurity Auction class which would have taken place at this year’s show, we invite those qualified Auction class horses back in 2021 to compete in a Futurity Auction Class of 2 Year old Colt/Geldings and Fillies. The Futurity Legacy 2 year old class horses that would have competed this year will be invited to participate in a Futurity Legacy 3 year old Class for Colts/Geldings and Fillies.
We currently have our on-line Futurity auction occurring. This event runs from March 8th through the 22nd at 7pm EST. These resulting foals will be shown in the Futurity Auction Class in 2022. There is no change to the auction, and wish all of our participants good luck in your bidding to obtain that special stallion that will be our big winner in the Futurity Auction Class in 2022.
We look forward to our 2021 show, and are happy to invite back our selected judges who have committed for the 2020 Arabian Breeders World Cup Show. We are happy to have additional Auction and Legacy classes in 2021 and look forward to the additional excitement that the extra prize money will bring. In 2021 we will also have The IntArah Auction class will be back with a $50,000.00 first place pay out.
