5 March 2022, Dubai ~ Jugurtha De Monlau (AL MAMUN MONLAU (FR) x Amina De Monlau by Monsieur Al Maury) took the field of nine for a ride and won with authority on the first Saturday in March at Meydan in the third round of the Al Maktoum Challenge.
The Yas racing entry headed out the gate guided by jockey Fernando Jara. Trained by Alan Jean-Claude Pécout, the six-year old took possession of the race and never looked back. He was ghosted by Brraq, also Pécout trained, whose jockey, Patrick Dobbs, did not let up on his will for second. Rajeh was third. The Gr 1 race of 2000m had a purse of $75,000 and win time was 02:16:85.
Brraq has been on the boards in all three of the rounds, placing second to Rajeh in the first round on 14 January, and third on 4 February in round two.
