23 May 2018, Hippodrome de Waregem, Belgium ~ In the Emirates Breeders Cup run on 20 May 2018, it was Jamas D.A. that won over the field of seven runners in the 1600 meter race.
Bred in Belgian by Johan Verstrepen, Jamas D.A. (AF Albahar x Toyah D.A. by Altis del Sol) is owned by Peter Deckers and was represented by assistant-trainer Anne Engels. Winning jockey Anna Van den Troost was on her third ride of the day and her third win.
Ten declared but three were non-runners at the start. After a tightly packed run, a quick sprint to the front on the stretch by Van den Troost on Jamas D.A. created a three-way tie that was decided by the finish photo. Second by a nose was Madjy and third was Ziggy D.A. Fourth place was Tasha D.A.
Johan Verstrepen of Dijkhoeve Arabians also bred the third and fourth placed horses and received the Breeders Premium.
