Setting the bar for future racers
6 August 2018, Deauville, France ~ Jad Hondier on Small and Mighty won the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival’s HH Sheikha Lateefa Bint Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan International Pony championship race held at the Deauville race course in France on Sunday, 5 August 2018.
Hondier and the pony Small and Mighty finished ahead of Eden Lesot on Bronheulog Acorn, while in third place was Simon Planque on Gordon.
Apart from the Deauville leg of the HH Sheikha Lateefa Bint Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan International Pony championship, another pony race for the Prix International Junior Cup was held and Geoffroy de La Sayette of Great Britain on I Am Loving It finished ahead of French jockey Simon Planque on Ambassia. It was a second podium finish for the young French rider, who had also finished third in the HH Sheikha Lateefa race. American Teddy Davies on Dough Boy finished third.
Ms. Lara Sawaya, Executive Director of HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival, Chairperson of the International Federation of Horse Racing Academies (IFHRA) and Chairperson of Ladies & Apprentice Racing Committees in the International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing Authorities (IFAHR) congratulated the winner of the HH Sheikha Lateefa Bint Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan International Pony championship and said even the parents will be invited to Abu Dhabi for the grand final in November 2018.
