QATAR TOTAL ARABIAN TROPHY DES JUMENTS Won by Naziq
2 October 2016, Chantilly, France ~ Naziq, owned by His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and Minister of Presidential Affairs drove to a great win by jockey Jean-Bernard Eyquem in the Euros 150,000 Group 1 Qatar Total Arabian Trophy Des Juments (Fillies) race on the Jockey Club course in Chantilly, France on Saturday, 1 October 2016.
The 4-year-old Mahabb-bred filly finished ahead of Shaqab Racing’s Jeyoosh under Faleh Bughenaim with Richard Mullen steering Najda, owned by HH Sheikh Mohamed Bin Khalifa Al Thani to third place, ahead of Jumuh under Francois-Xavier Bertras.
Naziq, bred by Sheikh Mansoor, emerged as the top Purebred Arabian filly with this win over a distance of 2000 metres (One mile and two furlongs) to strike for the now famous green & yellow colors of Sheikh Mansoor with a start-to finish victory.
Trained by Mrs. Jean-Francois Bernard with Jean-Bernard Eyquem onboard, Naziq took a massive lead from the start and continued over all comers to win the 2000-metre race by more than four lengths.
Mr. Martial Boisseuil, Racing Manager for HH Sheikh Mansoor, and Ms. Lara Sawaya, Executive Director of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival, Chairperson of the Int’l Federation of Horse Racing Academies (IFHRA) and Chairperson of Ladies & Apprentice Racing Committees in the International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing Authorities (IFAHR) received the winning trophies.
Ms. Sawaya congratulated His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and Minister of Presidential Affairs on the superb win by Naziq. “It was indeed a great win by the filly and this victory reiterates the great breeding programme by HH Sheikh Mansoor. Mahabb is a very successful stallion and we are marketing the services of all these top horses through the Wathba Stallions,” she added.
