7 May 2015, Abu Dhabi ~ His Highness Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, after inaugurating the 25th session of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, visited the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival Stand and received a copy of the 2014 Year Book.
Ms Lara Sawaya, Executive Director of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival, Chairman of the International Federation of Horse Racing Academies (IFHRA), Chairman of Ladies & Apprentice Racing Committees in the International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing Authorities (IFAHR) received H.H. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the stand and explained the activities of the Festival.
The 6-day Fair is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
“We are very proud that HH Sheikh Abdullah took the 2014 Year Book for this publication reflects all the activities that have been staged to enhance the Purebred Arabian horse and horse racing and endurance sport, all of which are part of the UAE’s heritage,” Ms Sawaya said.
The foreword for this 2014 Year Book of the Festival is by His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, with messages also from HH Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman, Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority and Jasem Al Darmaki, Acting Director General Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) among others.
The hard-bound runs into over 300 pages and has been compiled and edited by M. Satya Narayan, the former Abu Dhabi Deputy Editor of Gulf News, who has been covering horse racing activities for over two decades.
“This is the only Year Book for any international horse racing series in the world and we are proud that the fourth consecutive edition is out. The book is an attractive collection of reports, articles and pictures which stand testament to the racing skills of the Purebred Arabian horse,” Ms Sawaya added.
A number of Sheikhs and high-ranking officials and guests visited the Festival’s stand and received a copy of the Year Book.
The HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival is sustained by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority and coordinated by Abu Dhabi Sports Council in cooperation with Emirates Racing Authority, IFAHR, Emirates Arabian Horse Society, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare with The National Archives as the official partner and Emirates airline as the official carriers and sponsored by Invest AD, Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC), Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), Al Awani General Enterprises, Kabale, Al Wathba Centre, the UAE’s General Women’s Union, the HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition 2015, Dr. Nader Saab Switzerland, Al Wathba Center, Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, Eastern Mangroves Suites-Abu Dhabi by Jannah, Yas Channel, Omeir Travels and Racing Post.
