Gallops of Jordan, an extraordinary art of living and adventure
4 October 2021, Jordan ~ A 200 km horseback trek in five stages through desert terrain equipped only with a GPS orientation tool is certainly an incredible sporting endeavour and a formidable challenge. However, the Gallops of Jordan masters a unique art of living that combines sport, luxury, and adventure.
Crossing breath-taking lunar landscapes that are regularly used for major Hollywood films, the Gallops itinerary is every horse rider’s dream. The Gallops is also the story of incredible human experiences, encounters, solidarity, and inter-generational and cultural exchanges. For this fourth edition, one hundred competitors coming from different equestrian horizons, aged between 15 and 70 years and with a perfect balance between men and women, are divided into teams of five or six riders. The riders will all be united by the Arabian horse, known for its endurance qualities and mastery of the desert landscape.
At the end of each difficult stage of the trek, “5-star” comfort awaits the participants in the bivouac campsites comfortably installed along the route. Each evening will be a dazzling feast with meals prepared by the chef of the Marriott Hotel, named among the fifty most influential hotel chefs in the Middle East. The program includes an oriental evening organized by the Ministry of Tourism, and the Gallops’ famous and legendary White Party with champagne and a DJ. Last but not least, a gala ceremony soirée will be held in the sumptuous setting of Little Petra, in the presence of the Jordanian Royal Family, including H.R.H. Crown Prince Hussein Bin Abdullah, as well as H.R.H. Princess Jalila Bint Ali, niece of H.R.H. King Abdullah II, who is also taking part as a rider in the competition.

Following in the footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia and Indiana Jones, the Gallops of Jordan will start on the 23rd of October 2021 from the desert of Wadi Rum, crossing fascinating wild and mineral landscapes soaked in vibrant ochre and red hues, to the finish line at the mythical lost Nabatean city of Petra on the 30th of October 2021.
