February 22, 2015, Abu Dhabi ~ Ain Jaloot (Amer x SHOAGH (FR) by Dormane (FR), ridden by regular partner Gerald Avranche, was eased to his fourth straight Wathba Stud Farm Cup for Private Owners Only win during the current season, at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club on Sunday.

Aim Hi, ridden by UAE Apprentice jockey Saeed Al Mazrouei was second four lengths behind and in third was Nizam Al Gharbia under Silvestre De Sousa. The winning time for the 1000-metre turf sprint was 1:02.14.

“Ain Jaloot did it the right way, and I believe he’s among the best top Arabian sprinters in the local season,” Avranche said.

Trained by Eric Lemartinel in Abu Dhabi, Ain Jaloot made it perfect four out of his eight starts of the season. “He was narrowly beaten in his earlier four starts before we came to discover that the five to seven furlongs are his best trips and fortunately he appreciated the drop in distance and never beaten thereafter,” said the French trainer Eric Lemartinel.Al Jalootafter22DLD_2091

“Once again we are here to be honoured by winning the prestigious trophy,” said the winning owner and breeder Abdul Basit Al Yaqoub after claiming the Dh10, 000 bonus which is offered by the Festival to the winning breeder of every round of the Wathba Stud Farm Cup For Private Owners Only.

“What’s new is the fact that all breeders have begun to show interest in attending the Wathba Stud Farm Cup to reap the fruit of the seeds sown,” he said.

The five-year-old son of Amer jumped from stall-1 and was patiently ridden by the Frenchman before he raced away from the fences and put on top gear to lead and kick away from the pack to win by four lengths.
