From September 23 an extremely rich six-day event will start with the official Press Conference held in Sala Arazzi of the City Hall of Verona and will culminate on Saturday 28 with the assignment of the world title. A multi-faceted event marked by an intense program which will also consist of events not necessarily connected with sport, ranging from economics to entertainment, from shows to solidarity, from glamour to recreational activities dedicated to children.
The sporting event
The event acting as a catalyst is undoubtedly the racing competition itself, the 120 km CEI4*X that has already registered 14 participant nations during the Entry in Principle phase. In addition to Italy, the country organizing the event, Middle Eastern states such as Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, European nations like Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Spain as well as the Federations of the American continent of the united States and Uruguay joined the outstanding appointment in Valeggio sul Mincio. For now there are over 50 competitors who subscribed for the race, but the number is expected to grow rapidly now that the last day to subscribe, set for September 23, is getting closer. The racing track is made of three loops: the 40 km red loop, the 35 km yellow loop and the 22,5 blue loop to be repeated twice. In order to cover the required distance the race will start with the red loop, then it will move to the blue one, the yellow and again the blue loop towards the finish line where the World Cup will be waiting for the first winning pair. The start of the race is scheduled for Saturday at dawn, while the first rider is expected to cross the finish line at around 15:00. The Best Condition award will be assigned at around 16:30 whereas the awards ceremony is scheduled to take place at 19:30. The days before the event will be marked by the veterinary examinations performed by the Commission whose chairman is Daniele Gagliardi as well as by the great opening ceremony of the World Cup scheduled for Thursday 26, from 15:30 in the central Piazza Bra in Verona, next to the Arena, where the competitors will parade behind their national flags together with the official musical band and the guard of honour of the Italian Forest Rangers.
