Arabian Racing moves to Goodwood
30 July 2018, UK ~ The Goodwood Qatar International Stakes, a Group 1 PA one mile race to be run on 1 August 2018, promises a top quality renewal. The ten entrants together have been awarded wins in 11 Group One PA’s and 23 pattern races, and a few are standouts for this £400,000 prize money.
One of the four individual Group One PA winners is Lightning Bolt winner of a Listed race on his most recent outing giving weight to some decent performers, and he should not be underestimated and looks to have been primed with Wednesday’s race in mind.
Tayf and Ebraz, the one. two from last year’s renewal return. The 2017 race was run on different ground where Tayf just got the better or Ebraz in a thriller. Tayf subsequently had an injury, said his trainer, De Meuille, and will be running for the first time this season. Ebraz, trained by Qatar’s Julian Smart, was seen later in the Qatar Arabian World Cup in October and has been fairly busy over the winter in Group One PA company in Qatar. A chance might be taken on Muraaqib despite having to find a bit on the figures. He’s a multiple Group One PA winner and wears blinkers for the first time which judged on his latest second in a Group Three PA contest looks a shrewd move. A strongly run mile contest on decent ground are his ideal conditions, which can’t be said for some of his rivals.
