Dupleix Win In France Kicks off Festival’s International Calendar
2 February 2019, Pau, France ~ Dupleix, owned by the UAE’s Faisal Seddiq Al Mutawa and ridden by Jules Mobian won the year’s first international event of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival which was held in Pau, France, on Saturday, 2 February 2019.

The 6-year-old son of Madjani out of Ayisha De Faust won the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival’s Prix Wathba Stallions Cup- Haras de Gelos run over 1950 metres with a total prize fund of Euros 17,000. The Festival sponsored race was one of seven races on the card at the Pau race track.
The Charles Gourdain-trained Dupleix won with over two and a half lengths to spare from Jadeeda under Roberto Montenegro while in third place was Jaahez under Francois Bertras. Dupleix was bred at Chantilly Bloodstock Agency in France.
FESTIVAL TO STAGE 25 RACES IN FRANCE IN 2019
Ms. Lara Sawaya, Executive Director of HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival, Chairperson of the International Federation of Horse Racing Academies (IFHRA) and Chairperson of Ladies & Apprentice Racing Committees in the International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing Authorities (IFAHR) hailed the success of year 2019’s inaugural international race in Pau and said, “It was a strong field that contested the race which is part of the Festival under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and Minister of Presidential Affairs.”
Ms Sawaya said there will be 25 races in France throughout the year, including 21 races in the Wathba Stallions Cup, one for the Sheikh Zayed Cup, one leg of the HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Women’s World Championship and one for the HH Sheikha Lateefa Bint Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Ponies world championship series.
