Five horses went to post in this first group 1 PA race of the Chantilly season for three-year-olds, sponsored by Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club.
It was a thrilling finish between BON BAISER DE FAUST (FR) and MINDZA (FR), the latter prevailing by a short head, then came favourite GUEST DEL FALOT (SPA) with BAHIA DU PAON (FR) back in fourth place, BRIGAND DE FAUST (FR) raced too freely from the start and finished last.
Mindza was bought at Arqana last year by Paul Nataf for €15,000, she was bred by Bearn Arabians.
Hassan Al Matwi, Mindza’s owner, came third in this race in 2013 with Majd Al Uraiq.
2 July 2014, Saint Cloud, France ~ Djet Taouy wins the Coupe d’Europe des chevaux arabes (Gr.1 PA). On Sunday 29 June, eight horses went to post and we were treated to one of the most exciting renewals of this race, sponsored by the Emirates Equestrian Federation, who have been a great supporter of Arabian racing in France since 1994.
Trained by Jean-François Bernard and owned by the Royal Cavalry of Oman, the son of Dahess prevailed in the last strides to beat stable companion Ghadanfar Al Khalediah (KSA). Valentin (FR) took a remarkable third place. Jean-François Bernard stated after the race that he wasn’t surprised by the winner’s performance: “He is a very good horse and runs better on a left-handed track”. Djet Taouy was bred by Paul Daverio. Regarding Ghadanfar Al Khalediah he said that he lacked experience and that the track conditions probably did not suit him.
