May 27, 2013, Morocco ~ Hippodrome de Casablanca-Anfa 22 Mai, 2013 La Journee de PMU (PMU Day) was Wednesday, May 22, at the Hippodrome d’Anfa in Casablanca.
The Société Royale d’Encouragement du Cheval (SOREC), in charge of Morocco’s racing, has partnered with France’s PMU betting association (Paris Mutuel Urbain) to develop the profile of horse racing in Morocco. On this day in May, Philippe Germond, PMU Chief Executive, was on hand to confirm the success of the introduction of Moroccan races into the PMU network. The PMU recently announced its 15th straight year of growth in its provisional results for 2012.
Race Day
The first of five races, Le Prix Kachmir, for colts and fillies of 3 years + was 1,300m with 10 entries. In a good day for H. Zakaria Hakam horses he bred placed 1st and 3rd. Tylda (Mon Zack/Zack Aida), ridden by Mokhtar Fekkar led the pack at the finish with 2nd taken by Jalobey Racing’s Lucky Strike (Best Of Luck x Aweless), and third went to Hakam’s Linnea (Mon Ali x La Reserve).

Le Prix Flouss, for 4 years + over 1,900 m was won by Best Deputy ridden by Jaouad Khayate, arriving ahead of Errant Flame USA (Mingun) under Abdelkader El Kandoussi followed into third by Lebaumaisien FR(Ungaro) under Hicham Lakiel. Best Deputy (Best Of Luck x Ruby Glows) is owned by Jalobey Racing and A. Touhami, and trained by Jean de Roualle.

Le Prix Dixie for 4 year olds bred and raised in Morocco brought in 16 entrants to the 1,750 m race.
Najjare (Sensible x Najila) owned by the Royal Stables had the win guided by St. Coerette with Shura, also by Sensible under G. Rivases in second and Baila Me by Best of Luck owned by Jalobey Racing coming in third.

Le Prix Ould El Janoub – 2,100m for PSA of 4yrs + born and raised in Morocco.
Jalobey Racing was again in the spotlight with a 1, 2 , as Billabong (Gentlewave x Lunattori) ridden by Abderrahim Faddoul led in over 12 other runners with Jalobey- bred Polygold (Poliglotex Omaha Jem) in second. Polygold is owned by Jillali Al Garch and was ridden by Abds. Al Garch. Third in was the Royal Stables’s Blue Sound (Anabaa Blu x Safe and Sound) guided by G. Rivases . The winner is trained by Jean de Roualle.

The last test Le Prix Bold Ruler for 4 yrs + brought 19 runners to the gate for the 1.300m ride. The hero and winner by a neck was 7 yr old, Mandhi Lily (Marathon x Herioine Lily) owned by Abdeljebar Boumelha and brought in by jockey, Abdelkader El Kandoussi over Magic Mus (Tiger Hill x Maho). Third was Cambodiana FR (Statue Of Liberty x Baliyna)placing before 4th Hanatolyse (Anatolyx Houdou).
