Arqana Sale to Continue Despite Tragedy in France

The Autumn Sale will go ahead in Deauville Monday to Wednesday

14 October 2015, Paris, France ~ We deplore the violence in France, and the attitude is not to allow this to close down the country. Arqana will go ahead with scheduled Autumn Sale. We are with you.

The ARQANA Autumn Sale will go ahead in Deauville as scheduled, starting on Monday 16th November at 11:00am with the horses and training and continuing through to Wednesday 18th November with stores and yearlings.

As a consequence of the terribly sad events that took place in Paris last night, security measures have been enforced in the capital city, including the cancellation of racing at Saint-Cloud and Auteuil, however all other areas of France remain unaffected.

Racing is taking place today in Compiègne, North of Paris, and public transports both into and within France are operating as normal. Official statements as well as eye-witness reports from Roissy Charles de Gaulle, Orly and Beauvais airports confirm that flights are arriving on time. Eurotunnel and national rail services are also running on schedule. Road traffic across the Belgian, German and Swiss borders has been reported as perfectly smooth. However, border control has been reinforced and security checks may take a little longer than usual.
