5 July 2015, USA ~ While in Pleasanton California, USA, two premier races of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival will go off on 5 July, elsewhere two Wathba Stud Farm Cup races were held on 4 July.
In France, Al Mouhannad (Nizam x Al Ryme) under Thomas Henderson won the Prix Burkeguy Wathba Stud Farm Cup at the Dax racecourse. The Dax Wathba Sttud Farm Cup race was the third of the four races scheduled to be held in France this year. Al Mouhannad, owned by the Royal Oman Cavalry, finished ahead of Seif Enna under Sylvan Ruis while Kareem KB under Clement Cadel was third in the 7-horse race.
Racing Post carries Arabian racing card
Ms Lara Sawaya, Executive Director of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival, Chairman of the International Federation of Horse Racing Academies (IFHRA), Chairman of Ladies & Apprentice Racing Committees in the International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing Authorities (IFAHR) said, “We are very happy that the Racing Post has carried the full card of today’s Arabian racing in Hereford, UK. Seven Wathba Stud Farm Cup races are part of that card and this is a huge step forward for Arabian racing that Racing Post has carried the card in full.”
“Along with tomorrow’s Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup Emerald Green, which is the second leg of the Triple Jewel and the HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship race, there is also a Wathba Stud Farm Cup race in Colorado. So it is a busy week for the Festival,” she added.
In the Arapahoe, Colorado race, Pick Me (Dormane x Shall We Dance BW) with Michael Lammarino aboard, drew off by 6 3/4 lengths in the 6-furlong, $10,800 Wathba Stud Farm Cup in a time of 1:25.55. Pick Me is owned and trained by Mark Powell.
