2 February 2023, Meydan, UAE ~ The Meydan Race track opener Friday, 3 February, is the second round of the Gr 1 Al Maktoum Challenge with a host of talent in competition.
From the US, the top rated at 121, Hiab Al Zaman (Hilal Al Zaman x My Shelby Cobra by Kaolino) heads for his first UAE entrance for Victorious Racing under Adrie de Vries. The six-year-old has shown his heels to the field as he gained confidence. The distance of 1900 should prove no issue, as his last big win was the UAE President Cup S. Grade 1 at Pimlico, USA, for 1 mile 1/16 on dirt.
The veteran Hayyan at 117 is on board for Yas Racing as is the duplicate rated, Barakka for Sultan Ali. In the mix also are Jugurtha De Monlau, Deryan for Yas Racing, and AF Alajaj representing Khalid Al Nabooda. RB Rich LykeMe won Round 1 on 6 January under Adrie de Vries with Barakka second and Deryan in third.
