22 May 2015, Sweden ~ Four year old gelding Al Murjaan (Al Jakbar (FR) x Kaarine) won the Garizim memorial, 1600m race, on his Swedish debut on 6 May 2015. AL MURJAAN is owned and trained by Mrs Maria Hagman-Eriksson and was ridden on the day by Ninni Westerlund.

Shadwell Stud’s director Richard Lancaster commented: “I am delighted to see that AL JAKBAR has had his first winner. We had a promising run from his first runner in the UK which finished second, Aghsaan. We have some nice young horses by him at home which look very promising.”

French-bred, AL JAKBAR is the son of AL SAKBE and was trained by François Rohaut who always held him in high esteem. AL JAKBAR won the French Arabian Breeders’ Cup Mile (Gr.1 PA) at Longchamp as a 4 year old.

AL JAKBAR is out of ESSAADA, dam of multiple Group performers such as BINT BELADY (Al Asayl Championship, Gr.3), ESSAANA (Prix Razzia III, Gr.3), TORNADOR (La Coupe Goffs, Gr.1) and SPEED TORNADE (Emaar International Stakes, Gr.2).
