1 October 2023, Paris, France ~ Al Ghadeer, unbeaten in his last seven (7) races, continued his winning streak in the ParisLongchamp Qatar Arabian World Cup. Ridden competitively by jockey Christophe Soumillon, the 4 year-old was gunning for the win from go. Al Ghadeer (Al Mourtajex x Gharraa (Matador) is trained by Francois Rohaut for Al Shaqab Racing and was bred by Dr. Al Nujaifi. The time was 2:12:17
Al Doha, trained in Royan by Thomas Fourcy, winner of this race the last three times, took second place. Third place went to Ch’Ezza, also trained by François Rohaut.

François Rohaut (the trainer of Al Ghadeer, Ch’Ezza and Rajeh) at the Pau training centre (Pyrénées Atlantiques region) said before the race: “Everything is going swimmingly for Al Ghadeer. He’s matured and, at Goodwood, in front of a large crowd, the horse revealed his bombproof temperament. He really is an extraordinary horse.”
Jean de Mieulle (the trainer of First Classs et Mezown) trained at Morannes-sur-Sarthe (Maine and Loire region) said before the race: “It’s great to have two runners in such a race. Mezown was due to run on Saturday. However, following discussions with her entourage, she has been recast in the rôle of a pacemaker in the QAWC on Sunday. Mezown is on an upward curve. As she’s regaining top form.”
