3 December 2014, Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club ~ H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Thani’s  Al Bashtoon (Munjiz x Feline Du Cassou) came up with a stunning gallop to win the Al Britha Cup, a Pure Arabian Advanced Plate, run over 1800 metres, the highlight of the Wednesday races on the sand track of the Racing and Equestrian Club on December 3. Al Bashtoon galloped on resolutely in the final stretch to come from the fourth position and pass all the contenders to win by a one and half lengths over Maazouz. The Jullian Smart trained Al Bashtoon was brilliantly ridden to victory by jockey Richard Mullen. Saint de Faust made it in for third.AL Bashtoon after the winning

Fahad Mubarak Jassim Al Groon’s Jallad (Dormane x Narjess) was a pillar to post winner of the Local Bred Pure Arabian Maiden Plate. Taking a good jump, jockey Alberto Sanna took Jallad to the front and called the shots to her eight rivals. Once into the home turn, Jallad sported a pair of wings and sped away to leave the others to fight for minor placings. Jallad won by 15 lengths from Al Waab and Saif Brooq.

In a thrilling contest, Al Jeryan Stud’s AJS Qahir (Martin Al Maury x Af A’ajabatani) staved off the spirited challenge of TM Raegan Bret to win the Pure Arabian Handicap, a race for horses rated 70 to 100. Mohammed Al Yaqout trained AJS Qahir was ridden to victory by jockey Gerald Avranche. Tuyoorna and TM Thunder Struck completed frame.

Jassim Mohamed Al Gazali & Sons’ Upholland recorded a fluent win in Thoroughbred Handicap for horses rated 60 to 80. After racing in A handy third position, jockey Harry Bentley brought Upholland into contention with a smooth run. 

Sharida Nasser Sharida Saad Al Kaabi owned Bern Me Baby was a runaway winner in the Thoroughbred Graduation Plate with start to finish tactics under jockey Marvin Suerland. s

Khalid Yahya Al Khusaai owned Katja broke through the maiden ranks in the Thoroughbred Maiden Plate with a runaway victory. 

Abdulhadi Mana Al Hajri owned Afortunado (Footstepsinthesand – Bon Expresso) was ridden to a comfortable victory by jockey Gary Carter in the Thoroughbred handicap for horses rated 60 and below, run over six furlongs. 

Al Zaeem Stud’s Barzan made every post a winning one as he raced away to a start to finish victory in the Thoroughbred handicap for horses rated 60 and below.
