15 September 2017, Abu Dhabi, UAE ~ The 15th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition *ADIHEX welcomed His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council member of the UAE and Ruler of Ajman, and Dr. Thani Bin Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment.
The two visited the Equestrian Pavilion which features the One World, 6 Continents, Abu Dhabi The Capitalwelcome center, sponsored by His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival, primary Pavilion sponsor.
The Grand entry is through the portal highlighted with the life-sized “hyper-loop” model representing the forward travel method that would take passengers from Dubai to Abu Dhabi in 12 minutes. The Equestrian Pavilion of over 4000 sq. meters features vendors and stands representing the many participants and sponsors of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Festival. Arriving from 6 Continents, these exhibitors represent Arabian horse breeders and owners, world renowned race tracks, endurance racing locations and events, racing and equestrian publications, and much more. The business to business exchange is a benefit along with the exchange of ideas and ability to share with the public their knowledge and passion about their breed and their sport.
The Exhibition, which is open to the public, began on 12 September 2017, and will run until 16 September and takes up the entire exhibition floor of the Abu Dhabi Exhibition Center with representatives, displays and products from the world of travel, hunting, falcons and equestrian events. The five-day annual exhibition is dedicated to equestrian and outdoor hunting activities in the region with over 600 international, national and local firms engaged in equestrian activities.
Ms. Lara Sawaya, Executive Director of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival, General Manager of Wathba Stallions, Chairperson of the Int’l Federation of Horse Racing Academies (IFHRA) and Chairperson of Ladies & Apprentice Racing Committees in the International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing Authorities (IFAHR), said, “We are very pleased that rulers of emirates and members of the UAE cabinet are visiting our stand and praise the role of pure-bred Arabian horses globally.”
The Festival also features the release of the sixth edition of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival Year Book 2016. The 316-page glossy book that compiles the year of Festival events: raceing, both flat and endurance, conferences, awards, seminars and allied activities. The book is written by Muthyalu Satyanarayan who has over 30 years experience in newspapers and journalism with many of these years being devoted to equine sports. He has penned all the editions of the yearbook.
In his foreword to the book, His Highness Sheikh Mansoor stated that the book not only serves as a record that encapsulates all the Festival’s activities, but it is also a
perfect too that the racing fraternity can use to promote Pure-bred Arabian racing.
ADIHEX aims to present Abu Dhabi as the capital of the UAE’s cultural heritage by promoting sustainable hunting and conservation of the environment, highlighting the heritage and cultural traditions of the UAE, and narrating the history of the Emirati people to bring in more exhibitors and visitors year on year, according to the sponsors of the event.
The daily evening raffle at the Equestrian Pavilion with prizes ranging from I-phones, I-Pads, I-watches, cash prize along with gold jewelry continues to attract visitors.
