October 11, 2013, Abu Dhabi ~ An exciting evening of 5 races on tap for the evening saw the stolen win on the outside in the final strides of the HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak EARS Apprentice Jockeys Race by South Africa’s Collen Thabana on Manan (Doran x Mangaline Du Loup against a field of eleven.
The culmination of the 2013 HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship (IFAHR) Series saw the Jacki Wickham trained Kareem W’rsan (Amer x Cash On the Spot by Sam Tiki) make a great sweep to bring Omani jockey, Salima Al Taleei home to the winners circle before a packed house of fans, EARS conference attendees, owners and trainers. The 7-yr -old beat out thirteen others including such seasoned horses as Fryvolous, Bigg N Rich and Mestor.
In the first race of the evening Molahen Alham by Al Nasr shot to first in the QASR Al Bahar Maden 1400m besting Fatat Al Arab for a double for the sons of Al Nasr and trainer Ernst Oertel.
The Wathba Stud Farm Cup The Racecourse Newbury for Private Owners saw the Eric Lemartinel trained Mooser (Bibi De Carrere x Maslina) win for Al Yaquob Arabians under Gerald Abranche.
The Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Prestige cup of 1600m was won by Sahib Du Clos (Kerbella x Isis Du Clos by Djourman) under Wayne Smith. Majed Al Jahouri trained the second in, Rabbah De Carrere for H. E. Sheikh Mansour Bin ZayedAl Nahyan, while the Burning Sand son, Wycked, found his place for third.
The presentation of all of the lady jockeys that had competed during the year accompanied by local school children gave a backdrop to singer, Aryam, who performed with the trained horses of Ali Al Amri.
