July 19, 2013, Dubai ~ Press Release – Six horses have been declared for the Wathba Stud Farm Cup to be run at The State Fair in Sacramento, CA, USA, as seven horses battle it to the wire at the Warsaw Racetrack in the second round of the competition on Saturday July 20.
Both events are held under the directives of HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.
USA
Amazing Sawaska, trained by M F Parker and ridden by F Rodriquez, heads the weights in the first round of the 2013 edition of the Wathba Stud Farm Cup while Kentucky Bay, Limitless, Laurielu, Chandika and Hitdamark complete the field.
The six-furlong race carries a total purse of US$11,300 and open for Purebred Arabians three-year-old and upwards who have never won two races.

Poland
Meanwhile, seven horses lineup for honours in the second round of the Wathba Stud Farm Cup with plenty of them are in with a chance to do the work at the Poland racecourse.
Top weight Ezar will be partnered by S. Mazur for trainer K. Zawilinsky and looks good to strike in the three-year-old Purebred Arabians Group-2 event which is contested over a mile.
Other contenders include Sang (K. Rogowski) A. Kabardov; Batajka (M.Romanowski) C.Fraisl; Drago (Wróblewska) L.Reznikova; Cepton (K.Zawiliński) A.Mazurkiewicz; Amira (M.Łojek) A.Turgaev; and Ceilan (M.Kryszyłowicz) M.Kryszyłowicz.
According to Lara Sawaya, Director of the HH Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival and Head of International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing Authorities (IFAHR) Ladies Racing, “Increasing the numbers of the Wathba Stud Farm Cup series came under the directives of HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs to encourage small owners and breeders around the globe to widen the base of Arabian horse breeding and training and thereby increasing the numbers of Arabian races which in turn restore the global image and prestige of this noble creature.”
“The festival has successfully promoted the Arabian horse through the various events such as the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup, HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship IFAHR, Wathba Stud Farm and the World Arabian Horse Race Conference,” she added.
Sawaya thanked the faithful partners and sponsors of the festival and reiterated that all preparations are well in place to host the World Juniors and Youth Endurance Championship in France on July 27.

Smoke, President, Arabian Jockey Club (USA), confirmed that late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan was behind the first move to host and organize Arabian horse races in USA and HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan has brought to life again to these races through the HH Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival including the Sheikh Zayed Cup and the HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship IFAHR besides the series of the Wathba Stud Farm Cup.
