08 May 2013, UK ~ Karen Collier, Chairman of Endurance GB announced on the Endurance GB website: It is with regret that EnduranceGB have to inform you that the Dubai Equestrian Club have decided to withdraw their sponsorship from the FEI rides at Euston Park for 2013.

 This will mean that the Euston Park series of FEI rides will not be available this summer. There are opportunities to compete in FEI rides at Bocconoc, Kings Forest, Seacliffe, Barbury Castle and the College ride in the UK.

 If it is at all possible to secure one of the Euston Park dates to run an FEI ride elsewhere we will endeavor to seek out the opportunities. We have enjoyed the generosity of the DEC for several years and would hope that this will continue in the future.

The national governing body, Endurance GB, reported that it has not been offered a reason.

Sheikh Mohammed, who owns a reported 700 endurance horses, had underpinned Euston Park for years, and funded world championship events. Now, the near-halving of the UK’s international calendar gives an opportunity to bring other sponsors on-line. The May 5, Royal Windsor Horse Show 120k CEI 2* endurance ride, recently sponsored by Bahrain, was a good example. The HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Festival has recently announced a 3*CEI O to take place in Compiegne, France, on May 24.  This may aid the many British endurance riders looking for qualification rides for the 2014 September World Equestrian Games. Other UK FEI rides still on the calendar are: Bocconoc, Kings Forest, Seacliffe, Barbury Castle and The College.
