Romania Hosts Wathba Stallion Cup

Bucharest will stage the 2019 World Arabian Horse Racing Forum (WAHRF)

30 June 2018, Ploiești, Romania ~ Romania is the latest country to play host to the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival’s Wathba Stallions Cup at the Hipodromul Ploiesti on Sunday, 1July 2018.

Ploiești is a city and the county seat in Prahova County, Romania. Part of the historical region of Muntenia, it is located 56 km north of Bucharest.

Organised by Ploiesti CSM in collaboration with the Romanian Arab Race Association and the Romanian Hippic Federation, the Wathba Stallions Cup is the biggest race for Purebred Arabians to be staged here.

The race, which is for Purebred Arabian horses will be the 8th on the Sunday card and is expected to be a huge draw for Romanian racing fans. Seven horses are in the fray and they include Nordika, Diamant Du Pouy, Demona, Equario, Raja, Ameer Al Arab and Eau De Muguet.

We are very happy to be staging this race and Romania will soon start playing a huge role in Arabian racing along with the Festival,” said Ms. Lara Sawaya, Executive Director of HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival, Chairperson of the International Federation of Horse Racing Academies (IFHRA) and Chairperson of Ladies & Apprentice Racing Committees in the International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing Authorities (IFAHR).

This race comes after the Romanian capital of Bucharest was named as host for the 2019 edition of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival’s World Arabian Horse Racing Forum (WAHRF). Bucharest will be the 10th city in the world to stage our annual conference and all this has been possible thanks to the directions of HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs,” she added.
