Wrsan Riding Team travels to Austrian International Arabian Sport Horse Championships and comes home with Gold
9 June 2016, Austria ~ From 27-29 May 2016 Arabian Sport Horses came together to compete for top honors at the ECAHO Lower Austria and Austrian International Arabian Sport Horse Championships 2016, at the at the Equestrian complex at Wiener Neustadt. Classes were held in English and Western disciplines representing Dressage, Classic Pleasure, Trail, Western Pleasure, Reining, Ladies Side Saddle, and Traditional Arabian Riding.
The team representing Abu Dhabi’s His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s Wrsan Stables returned home triumphant bringing back Gold. This event, held at the Western Training Centre near Vienna, continues to grow with 54 entries from 10 countries competing in a variety of classes. Traveling horses were flown via Etihad Cargo to Lintz airport which has been upgraded to easily receive horses.
Wrsan Dressage trainer Line Moen from Norway rode the home-bred mare Muteeaa W’rsan to five outstanding victories over two days in classes for Classic Pleasure, Traditional Riding and Side Saddle, bringing home six gold medals including for the Over All Classic Champion.
Muteeaa W’rsan is a daughter of 29-year-old Monarch AH, a former multi Darley Champion racehorse and sire of racehorses from USA. He held the rank of chief sire at Wrsan from 2002 until his retirement in 2014. Muteeaa’s dam is the Russian Tersk-bred mare Medeia, daughter of another famous racehorse and influential sport horse sire, Drug, that died at the UAE’s Al Asayl Stables earlier this year at the venerable age of 31.
Monarch AH was also represented at the event by his sons Al Khattar W’rsan, last year’s Gold medal winner in All Round Classic at the European Sport horse Championships, Salute This and Al Borait Wrsan. These stallions are all familiar for their successes in Arabian ridden and dressage events in the UAE where they fly the flag for the beauty and versatility of this wonderful breed. Salute This, bred by Magness Arabians and imported with Monarch AH epitomizes the Wrsan breeding program. This lovely stallion placed in racing and endurance before starting his career in ridden events and dressage. His exceptional temperament has allowed him to breed his mares and continue in training and he remains an absolute gentleman.
Also riding for Wrsan were also Caroline Todler, Ibrahim Lamhriche and Adil Baziz.
