20 September 2017, Chantilly, France ~ Ebraz under jockey Cristian Demuro won the run-up race to the Qatar Arabian World Cup, the Qatar Arc Trial 17, (Qatar Cup – Prix Dragon) by over 5 lengths at the Chantilly racecourse in France on 10 September 2017. The 2000 metre Group 1 race saw 9 go to the post vying for the €30,000 prize money and perhaps to test the challengers for the Arc weekend.

The four-yr-old grey by Amer out of Massamarie settled behind leader Yazeed, moved up in the stretch and attacked at the 300m to win going away with the background, the historic Chantilly Chateau.

Ebraz is trained by Julian Smart for HH.Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Thani. Yazeed finished second while Gazwan stayed solid for third. This was the second win for Ebraz in three outings on the European continent in 2017. This win might be the ticket for Ebraz as Al Mourtajez won this run-up race in 2016 and went on to win the 2016 Qatar Arabian World Cup.

The 1 Million Euros prize-money Group 1 2017 Qatar Arabian World Cup will be run on Sunday, 1 October 2017 as part of the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe weekend at the Chantilly race course over a distance of 2,000 metres. The Arabian race goes off at 3:20pm just before the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. The Qatar Arabian World Cup is one of the three legs of the Doha Triple Crown.
