Another hot race of the day is the second leg of the HH Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup (Gr 1)

6 July 2017, USA ~ The 9th ladies race in the HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship (IFAHR) 2017 series takes place on Saturday, 8 July 2017, at Oak Tree in Pleasanton, California, USA.

This Ladies Championship series is staging its ninth race at Pleasanton. The winner of each race in the 12-race series will compete in the Abu Dhabi Championship Finals in November.

The race goes off at 2:15 pm (PST) and number one is Cindy Klinkenberg from The Netherlands who will be on Last Call MHF trained by Scott Powell. WMA Success Symbol is ridden by Sweden’s Tina Henricksson for trainer Hellen Shelley; the home gal, USA’s Erika Taylor will be on Ivory Shores trained by Scott Powell; Sheila Ahern from Ireland is on RB Hot Buns trained by Abel Borg; Oman’s Fatma Al Manji is riding Burning Mercy trained by Terry Eaton; representing Spain, Beatriz Alonso is riding WMA Riversong trained by Renee Lafleur; France is represented by Ingrid Grard riding Dream Pearl trained by Terry Eaton; the United Kingdom’s Poppy Bridgwater is on Nivours Romance trained by Abel Borg; Claudia Fleissner from Germany is riding Duchess AA trained by Terry Eaton; and from Norway, Thea Hofossaeter will ride Golly Zands trained by Renee Lafleur.

The HH Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Gr 1 Arabian Cup, the Emerald Jewel, the second leg of the Triple Jewel Series, will go off at 2:45 pm.

Paddys Day, winner of two Triple Jewel Series (2015, 2016) was flown via Federal Express from Delaware to defend his title.

The second leg of the HH Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup (Gr 1) is being hotly contested, not only for the $50,000 prize money, but in pursuit of the $150,000 bonus for high points for the three legs of the series.

Paddys Day, winner of two bonus checks, will be back to defend his dual titles in this Triple Jewel Series. The six-year-old, owned by Quarter Moon Ranch, has a good start in 2017 with 3 wins in 3 outs – one win being the first leg of the Triple Jewel (Amethyst Jewel at Houston on 4 March 2017). Paddys Day’s most recent win was on the East Coast in Delaware on 5 June.

Other top horses that will try to gain points with the win are Sand Victor, True Grit SA, and Quick Sand AA. Also running are Z Yoyo Go,ES Mi Cielo, Ayers, Twice Rich, By Golly Its Hot and CR Ardiente. Every horse to finish will receive 5 points.
