Mahabb youngster shows her talents
25 June 2017, France ~ On Friday, 23 June 2017, Joudh (Mahabb x Shamayl (KESBEROY) made her third win in a row, leading home in the €50,000 Gr 1 Qatar Coupe de France des Chevaux Arabes at Chantilly racecourse.
Going in as the favorite for the 1600m ride, the filly made the jump easily under jockey Mickael Barzalona who had trouble rating the chestnut as she struggled to lead the field from the very start. After convincing her she would be comforatble in the pack they settled into fourth until the turn into the stretch. This is where Barzalona showed her the air on the outside as he expertly guided the three-year-old to challenge the Thomas Fourcy-trained Rum under Faleh Bughenaim for the lead, crossing the line 1/2 length ahead. Joudh is a half-sister to Mabrooka and is owned by Wathba Stud Farm and trained by D. Guillemin. Third in was Aoun (Mahabb) trained by A. Watrigant and ridden by Christophe Soumillon.
