15 May 2017, Deauville, France ~ Muraaquib (Munjiz x Tashreefat (Benglai D’Albret) won the 2,000m The President Of The UAE Cup – Coupe d’Europe des Chevaux Arabes (Gr1 PA) on Sunday, 14 May 2017, in Deauville, France.
Francois- Xavier Bertras was in the stirrups wearing the blue silks of HH Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum and guided the colt expertly through the field of eight to victory over 2e, Mehdaaf Athbah, and 3e, 2015 course winner, Prada T.
Trained by F. Rohaut, the 5 year-old colt joins the list of champion Arabians that have won this premier race and have gone on to further greatness: 2016 winner Al Mourtajez, 2014 – Djet Tauuy, 2013 – Al Mamun Manlou.
Deauville is the second stop on the eight-country tour for the President of the UAE Cup Series. The next stop is Milan, Italy, on 18 June.
