ARO Welcomes Increase in Entries at Wolverhampton

Arabian race entries rise

26 April 2017, UK ~ Following the close of entries at noon on 26 April, for the seasons’ opening fixture at Wolverhampton on 7 May, the Arabian Racing Organisation (ARO) saw a welcome rise in entries from the 2016 race day. With 79 individual horses making up the 90 entries across the eight-race card, this marked a significant increase on the opening meeting in 2016 which received only 54 entries for Purebred Arabians. Pre-season registrations were also up at 114 horses – another significant increase on last years’ total of 72.

ARO Racing Operations Executive Gemma Cobb was delighted to confirm the news saying: “ARO welcomes this increase and the continued support of all the participants in UK Arabian racing. We are particularly pleased by the number of unraced three and four year olds registered, which shows our efforts to rebuild the domestic Arabian racehorse population via the breeders’ scheme and other incentives are now beginning to take effect.”
