19 March 2016, Bahrain ~ Trainer Alan Smith, winner of last year’s inaugural HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival’s HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship (IFAHR)in Bahrain, extended that domination with another win in Friday’s second edition of the ladies championship.

Trainer Smith and Alice Mills made it a great partnership for Great Britain with the win of 5-year-old Kuheilan Al Adiyat completing the 7-furlong race in 1:39:37, but not before an exciting tussle for supremacy in the final stages.

Mills on the son of Al Hamdany staved off the challenge of Kra Yaan under Norway’s Catherine Fortune to win by the narrowest of margins and book a place in the November final of the HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship. Al Rabda under Denmark’s Rikke Sorensen finished third.

Trainer Smith had won this race with Mlolshan under Danish lady jockey Sabina Gammelgaard in the 2015 Bahrain edition, but Mlolshan could only earn a fourth place finish on Friday under Germany’s Laura Giesgen.
