28 October, Russia ~ On 17 October 2015 the Krasnodar racetrack hosted the last day of purebred Arabian racing for the season. As a part of the racing day the racetrack hosted two HARC races for purebred Arabians at the Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan HARC festival 2015. We are proud to say that the manager of Wrsan Stables, Ms Deirdre Hyde, and the trainer of Wrsan Stables, Mrs Jacqueline Wickham, visited the Krasnodar racetrack to take part on that day.

The first race was for two-year old horses over 1400 m with 390 000 rubles prize money. In spite of the fact that Coyote Ugly Tersk went under the wire first, a jockey’s error put the horse on the second place. By the decision of the judges the grey Vampirus from Urozjai Farm, after covering the distance in 1 minute 44.9 seconds, was declared the winner of the race.

The race for 3000 meters for three-year old horses was very exciting and attracted a lot of spectators as not so long ago the most important race for Arabians was the Topol Prize at 3200 m. The last 200 meters before the finish line were absolutely breathtaking – a real fight between Gdansk and Jack Pot, who lost only by one tenth of a second. Gdansk, bred and owned by Samovolov Stud, won the race

We are happy to congratulate all the Prize winners of the races!

Editors Notes: In order to preserve the classic characteristics of the purebred Arabian horse, the HARC (Heritage Arabian Racing Club) has been formed with the initiative of His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. HARC hopes that by providing a support forum for breeders and offering HARC race sponsorships, we will not only encourage owners and breeders of Heritage’ Arabians to join the grassroots of our sport and broaden the base of Arabian racing worldwide, but we will also help to preserve valuable bloodlines which can continue the heritage of their ancestors.
