Arabian Sport Horse Championships took place in Wiener Neustadt on
21 June 2015, Austria ~ The Austrian and Lower Austrian Championship official Show Titles have been sponsored by the Austrian Equestrian Federation since 1998. In 2010 these Championships added the Open Austrian Championships (OACh) and the Open Lower Austrian Championships (OLACh) – open for all countries who are FEI & ECAHO members.
The 2015 Championships from 5-7 June welcomed 37 horses with 296 starts in 61 classes competing for almost €30,000 in prize money.
Five nations entered horses: Denmark, Germany, Poland, Austria and Abu Dhabi – horses from W’rsan Stud, owner H.H. Sheik Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Show organizer, Elisabeth Chat: “We are glad to hear that all competitors and horses have returned home safely, especially our participants from Abu Dhabi, who travelled to Austria by plane from Abu Dhabi to Linz. First time in the history of Linz Airport a cargo flight Boeing 777 landed on this Austrian Airport to take home the very successful W’rsan horses safely.”
Rides competed in Austrian Championships and Open Lower Austrian Championships in Dressage, Classic Pleasure, Traditional Arabian Riding, Reining, Trail, Western Pleasure and Ladies Side Saddle, with Austrian Championships being one level higher in tests.
Denmark´s rider Tove Roy and Padron’s Must made a fine showing receiving Gold in the Austrian Open Dressage and the Lower Austrian Open. In the same divisions Line Moen doubled to take Silver on Khattar W’rsan and Bronze in the Austrian Open riding Al Mijlas W’san.
Kaja Dembinska (POL) and Echo Apollo showed a worthy performance deserving of Classic All Around Champion.
WAS Zahim´s Zarina and Sabrina Pauli (GER) became Western All Around Champion. Barbara Kristen (AUT) and her new horse El Moro landed Silver in Western All Around, Gold in Trail and Ladies Side Saddle, and Gold Lower Austrian Championship.
The young stallion GFH Sonar Seganges and Reinhard Hochreiter (AUT) earned the Reining Gold. Sonja Dries (AUT) and her well-trained Pajan won the Open Austrian Trail Gold.
Austrian Championship Gold Ladies Side Saddle was won by the elegant Danuta Kononczuk from POL on Ekier.
A great honor was the participation of 24-year-old Jezar (Bahrein x Iran) and Marlene Tucek. Jezar performed an elastic, happy program and received the special trophy for the oldest horse in the Championships.
A special gift from Team W’rsan from Abu Dhabi was given to all Gold medal winners this year: a T-shirt, a Polo-shirt and a Cap. This very special amicable gesture deepened contacts between participants immediately.
The Championships were held on the grounds of the WTC Schulz in Wiener Neustadt, about 50 km south of Vienna. The Show grounds included two indoor arenas (30 x 66) for horses and riders and the weather provided perfect conditions. 2016 Championships will be held from 27-29 May in the same location.
